Metix was appointed as the main EPCM contractor for the Tata Steel Richards Bay HC FeCr Project. The Tata Steel plant consists of 2 x 38 MVA furnaces capable of producing 133 000 tpa HC FeCr and a 300 000 tpa briquetting plant. The scope of work included the bought out furnace & briquetting plant packages, high voltage substation, molasses tanks, materials handling systems, environmental infrastructure and plant services. Metix did the detail engineering of civils, structural steel, E&I, piping, services and infrastructure as well as the overall project and vendor package management.
