Engineering & Design
The Metix Technology Design Office is comprised of an adaptable, versatile and creative design team. Drawing on more than 70 years of cumulative experience in the pyrometallurgical sphere, and more than 100 years of total experience across various fields and industries, the Technology Design Office applies itself across the entire equipment lifecycle – from conceptual design, through detail design, manufacturing, and even playing a hands-on role during installation and commissioning. This 360° exposure means the team can approach each challenge in a holistic and integrative manner – especially beneficial when serving the needs of brownfields plants. The team utilizes the Autodesk Inventor 3D design space for all equipment modelling and employing Autodesk Navisworks to interactively engage with our clients as part of the design review process, giving all parties involved the peace of mind that the necessary due diligence is applied. Metix has deployed the complete Autodesk ecosystem which further enables the Technology Design Office to feed information into the larger Project Office BIM workflow.
Consulting Services
As a leading process and engineering service provider Metix can provide the design and supply of charging systems, complete furnaces with refractories, tapping equipment, electrodes, transformers, low voltage distribution, automation and the high-current system.
Our designs at Metix are done in a BIM orientated environment, supported by FEA and CFD analysis (ANSYS Multiphysics FEA Software) where required in furnace parameters and design, mechanical equipment design (furnace equipment, conveyors, etc.), materials flow (time and motion studies), mass balance, process and technology evaluation.
