Metix's core business is the design and construction of ferroalloy plants that produce raw materials for both stainless and mild steel production. The plants comprise:

- Ferrochrome (high carbon and charged chrome)
- Ferromanganese (high and medium carbon)
- Silicomanganese
- Ferrosilicon
- Ferrovanadium

Processes range from ore agglomeration, sintering, smelting and product handling.

Metix designs and supplies key equipment for the above which includes charging chutes, bus-tubes, complete electrode systems, furnace roofs, shells and furnace linings, electrode contact shoes and pressure rings.

Metix implements its own proven in-house designs along with imported technologies to decrease power consumption, to improve environmental performance and to increase production. These designs, combined with equipment durability and availability, promotes cost-effective production of ferroalloys.
